What Rotate PDF does
Scanners and phone cameras love to save pages sideways or upside down. Rotate PDF fixes the orientation of a document in a couple of clicks and hands you back a clean, correctly turned file. It is handy for scanned contracts, lecture notes shot at an angle, statements that came in landscape, or any PDF that opens the wrong way up. The angle you choose is applied to all pages at once, so a whole crooked scan straightens out in one go.
How to use it
- Drag your PDF onto the drop box, or click it to browse and pick a file.
- Open the “Rotate by” menu and choose how far to turn the pages: 90° clockwise, 180°, or 90° counter-clockwise.
- Click the Rotate PDF button. The new orientation is written instantly.
- Download the corrected PDF.
If you are not sure which way to go, 90° clockwise rights a page that is lying on its left edge, and 180° flips an upside-down page back over. Run it again if you overshoot.
Why rotate here
The work happens right inside your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, so a sensitive document stays on your own machine the entire time. That also means it is quick: there is no upload wait and no queue, even on a slow connection. The tool is free, asks for no account, and runs on a laptop, phone or tablet alike.
Because it only adjusts each page’s rotation flag rather than rebuilding the file, your text stays searchable and selectable and your images keep every bit of their original sharpness. Nothing is flattened or squeezed.
Tip: if only a few pages are wrong while the rest are fine, split those pages into their own file first, rotate that, then merge it back into the main document. Got a big stack of scans to fix in one sweep? The BulkPro desktop app from the same team handles folders of files at once.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Rotate PDF turn every page or just one?
- It applies the angle you pick to every page in the file. If your whole scan came out sideways, one pass fixes it. To rotate only some pages, split those pages out first, rotate them, then merge them back.
- Will rotating reduce the quality of my PDF?
- No. The tool changes each page's rotation setting, it does not re-render or re-compress anything. Your text stays selectable and images keep their original quality.
- Is my PDF uploaded anywhere when I rotate it?
- No. The rotation happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. The file never leaves your device, which makes it safe for private contracts, statements or scans.
- Which way do the angle options turn the page?
- Pick 90 degrees clockwise to fix a page lying on its left side, 90 degrees counter-clockwise for the opposite, and 180 degrees to flip an upside-down page right way up.
