What Split PDF does
Split PDF lets you pull specific pages out of a PDF and save them as a new, smaller document. Drop in a contract and keep only the signature page. Grab chapter 2 from a long report. Pluck a single invoice out of a 40-page scan. Whatever pages you name, you get back one clean PDF with just those pages, in order.
It is handy for students trimming lecture notes, freelancers sending a client only the relevant section, and anyone who needs to share part of a file without the rest.
How to use it
- Drop your PDF onto the box, or click to pick a file from your device.
- In the Pages to keep field, type the pages you want. Use commas for single pages and a hyphen for a range, like
1-3,5to keep pages one through three plus page five. - Click Split PDF.
- Download your new PDF with only the pages you chose.
That is it. No accounts, no email, no watermark.
Why split your PDF here
Your file never leaves your computer. The split happens right inside the browser tab using JavaScript, so nothing is uploaded to a server and nothing is stored. That makes it genuinely private, which matters for tax forms, medical records, and signed agreements.
It is also free and instant. There is no software to install and no queue to wait in. The extracted pages keep their original text, images, and resolution, because the tool copies them rather than rebuilding them.
A quick tip
Page numbers refer to the document order, starting at 1. Out-of-range numbers are simply skipped, and repeated pages are only included once, so you can be a little loose with your input and still get a tidy result. Frequently asked questions
- How do I write the page range?
- Type the pages you want to keep, separated by commas. Use a hyphen for a range. For example, 1-3,5 keeps pages 1, 2, 3 and 5. A single number like 4 keeps just that one page. Pages are saved in order, and duplicates are ignored.
- Does Split PDF create one file per page or a single file?
- It builds one new PDF containing exactly the pages you listed. If you want page 7 on its own, enter 7 and you get a one-page PDF. To get every page as a separate file, run the tool once per page or range.
- Is there a page count or file size limit?
- There is no fixed cap. Because everything runs in your browser using your computer's memory, very large PDFs may process more slowly, but a normal document splits in a second or two.
- Will splitting change the original PDF or its quality?
- No. Your original file is untouched and the extracted pages keep their exact content and resolution. The tool copies pages as-is into a fresh document, so nothing is re-rendered or compressed.
